November Performance Highlights

The One Mouth Band was the featured artist at the recent Kate's Café Open Mic at the San Geronimo Valley Cultural Center. It was a fine performance for this intimate venue, dedicated to Sam's girlfriend of four years Mary Keydash (it was their anniversary!). Sam's workshop at the West Coast A Cappella Summit went very well. The room was a "standing room only" crowd of singers hungry to learn more about all the sounds Sam makes as the One Mouth Band. The rave reviews from this workshop resulted in an immediate invitation to teach again next year!

As Seen On TV: The One Mouth Band!

Vocal percussing to a hip version of "I Left My Heart In San Francisco," the One Mouth Band recently joined Joe Satriani, Mickey Hart, Narada Michael Walden, and other famous musicians in a star-studded bid for the 2012 Olympic Games. Sam's participation in this video presentation to the US Olympic Committee includes the double honor of having his skills featured on the theme song, and having his solo vocal percussion/bass used as an audio background for interviews with Olympic gold medalists! Several news segments are currently airing on local ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox stations. Should San Francisco win the bid for the 2012 Summer Games, you will likely see more of the One Mouth Band on national news coverage of the announcement later this weekend. Grateful to be in the right place at the right time, Sam blew the roof off a studio full of musical luminaries upon an unexpected opportunity to perform. Other musicians at the session included: members of the Doobie Brothers, Dan Hicks, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Wavy Gravy, The House Jacks, Jeanie Tracy, Shana Morrisson, Frank Martin, Country Joe Williams, and more!
