Recent performance recap

Thanks to those who tried to surf in to last month's One Mouth Band performance on Santa Rosa LiVE! The on-air part of the broadcast went great, but the web video streaming suffered from technical difficulties that could not be solved by airtime. This program will be rebroadcast on cable access stations locally, check the One Mouth Band calendar for dates, times, and regions. Recently an honored guest at his old alma mater, San Marin High School, The One Mouth Band conducted small workshops and performed a stellar jazz set as the featured artist at its "Jazz in January" annual concert. Sam took this opportunity to give proper thanks to his music teacher Emily Gates. Gates continues to teach up to six music classes a day at public schools, with amazing results. Without her support early on, there would be no One Mouth Band today.

Last One Mouth Band Gigs of 2002: A Recap

New Year's at The Powerhouse Brewery In this second annual father-son New Year's Eve blowout, Sam Rogers opened for Roy Rogers in front of a sold-out, rocking and partying crowd. The jaws that didn't drop in the One Mouth Band portion of the show were probably just too busy guzzling the fine microbrewed ale and counting the last minutes of 2002. Anna's Jazz Bistro The debut of the six-voice configuration of The Irrationals (with Sam Rogers on Vocal Percussion) was very well received in this jam-packed house. Solo performances by the One Mouth Band knocked'em out as usual. GreenPoint Mortgage holiday party The One Mouth Band's largest audience to date (over a thousand people) was at this corporate holiday party for one of the biggest independent mortgage companies in the country. "Guerrilla Caroling" with improv a cappella groups For the last few years Sam and a few friends left over from the improvisational theater/music group "Improvox" have gathered to sing Christmas carols in public places until they are asked to leave. But this year, every audience was a grateful one as they were invited into restaurants and stores to perform their hip, on the spot arrangements of traditional seasonal songs.
