The Irrational Market Forces

Yesterday's Irrationals gig at the main stage of the San Rafael Farmer's Market went quite well. The highlight of the three-hour vocal marathon performance turned out to be an impromptu vocal jam by Sam and Eric (new bass singer), who were inspired by the breakdancing teenagers performing for the lingering audience during one of the group's breaks. Sam also performed about thirty minutes worth of One Mouth Band material between Irrationals sets. The Irrationals are currently working on a lot of new material, including originals by Sam, Tim, and Eric. Upcoming gigs for the group will be announced soon at The-Irrationals.com.

A Three-Hour Gig, A Three-Hour Gig...

Come see Sam Rogers performing as the One Mouth Band and with a cappella group The Irrationals next Thursday (9/19) on the main stage at the Downtown San Rafael Farmer's Market from 6-9 PM.

Lately, Sam has put a lot of effort preparing for this show with the Irrationals. Instead of Sam singing bass and doing vocal percussion, this time he'll be covering for the missing tenor (who is currently teaching in China) as well as doing vocal percussion and body percussion. So much for things getting easier with the recent addition of the group's new bass singer! Plus, Sam will be performing as the One Mouth Band in between the three Irrationals sets, making for quite a workout!

Remember, the One Mouth Band can often be sighted at open mics around the Bay Area. Check the One Mouth Band Calendar for details.

How is the CD being received? Sam has sold between 3-6 at each open mic performance since the album's release, and nearly everyone comments about how great the CD looks upon first seeing it. When listening, the most frequently heard comment is how good Sam's voice sounds on this live recording. Many have also been pleasantly surprised by the value of this full-length album (12 tracks) for only twelve dollars.
