Tune in Tonight!

The Irrationals are appearing on local radio station KPFA 94.1 between 10 and 11 PM tonight on "Sing Out!" with Larry Kelp! For anyone outside of the broadcast range, the show can also be heard at KPFA.org at 6:00 AM GMT (3/25). You will hear a few live-in-studio songs and an interview to promote the upcoming benefit for the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedoms Center (Sunday 3-5 in Alameda!).

Sam listens to "Sing Out" on the way home from weekly rehearsals with The Irrationals, and he is thrilled to appear on such a historic and beloved radio station with this group! (Sorry for the short notice, but this one just came together)

Benefit for the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center Youth Program

The Irrationals & The One Mouth Band are performing at a benefit for this great youth program on Sunday afternoon, March 28th, from 3-5 PM at Kelly's of Alameda. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Center for Nonviolence, Equality, Youth & Ecology was established by Congresswoman Hon. Barbara Lee to serve at-risk youth and other underserved communities in the Bay Area. Some of the youth programs include: poetry slams, peace festivals, ecology workshops, one-day-youth-run cafes, and holiday events. The Center does all sorts of great stuff besides these youth programs, but this benefit is just for the kids!

The Irrationals will do two sets, the One Mouth Band a token tune, Kelly will play the solo piano jazz he does so well, and other performers and speakers from the center will appear as well (including Barbara Lee). This will be a fun, feelgood event for the whole family, and if you stick around long enough, Kelly will give you a free desert!

Love Out Loud!

Last Sunday, Sam and his girlfriend Mary celebrated their five-year anniversary with a 80 of their closest family and friends in a loving ceremony and a big, music-filled, party! Performers included The Irrationals, "Scrumbly" Koldewyn, The Lucie Duclos Band, Pepsi Sepulveda, and many more. Thanks to all that participated in a rip-roaring good time in the name of love!
